Easter weekend

As tradition would have it the masses took to Belize’s beaches and cayes for Easter weekend. Quiet Placencia Beach took on a new look for the weekend.

City and town dwellers made the most of the sun and sand.

The kids enjoyed the bouncy castle.

And the girls proudly modeled their new swim wear.

A lesson in Tamales making

I missed the first part but apparently you dilute the masa in water and then strain. To the strained masa you add salt and oil and cook, stirring till thick. It will end up looking like this.

Sports Day

This morning we got up and were in the village before the sun had even risen.

And that’s early for our family.

It was the primary schools Sports Day which always starts with an early morning Marathon. Everyone gathered down by the dock and waited for the, “On your mark, get set, go!”, command.
